Tutorial Blog Posts
The assignment was for each student to write a blog post teaching how to do a particular activity. The fifth graders typed or wrote down the skill they wanted to teach and wrote a step by step procedure for completing the task. Each student displayed each step through drawn images with pencil and paper. Thirdly, they scanned the drawings and uploaded them into Photoshop. They enhanced the color, brightness and contrast in Photoshop and saved the files into web formats. They uploaded the images into their blogs and also typed out the steps alongside the images. Photoshop PowerPoint and Fables
The sixth graders wrote fables in English and made them visual using Photoshop and PowerPoint. They created their characters in Photoshop and brought them into PowerPoint. In PowerPoint, they added speech bubbles and narration within each slide. They also added custom backgrounds from the internet into their presentation.

Interactive Comics with Sound
In art class the 5th graders made comics on a piece of paper that was 11×17 inches. Each Comic was scanned and each student uploaded their comic into PowerPoint. They cropped each scene in their story, resized, color corrected and placed it on it’s own slide. After all the cropping and resizing, each student spoke out the words that were on each slide.
Please forgive the sound quality and the fluctuation of volume. The microphones are getting a little dated and each student recorded at different times and distances from the microphone.
Next time, with time permitting, we will do speech bubbles that are typed to make the characters dialogue more readable.

6th Grade Photoshop Posters Based on Fables
The 6th graders wrote creative fables in English and they recreated them visually in this project. They chose a character from their story and made a poster of that character in Photoshop. Each student learned how to find images from the web and place them into a new document. The class also learned how to pick and choose particular pieces from an image and place it into another photo. They learned layers, various selection and manipulation tools and how to print on larger paper.
